U. S. WATER SERVICES CORPORATION
Water Resource Development –
New Production Wells
Schreuder,
Inc. provided professional hydrogeological and well installation services for
U.S. Water Services Corporation (USWS) for the City of Port Richey.
This project involved expanding the city’s water supply by installing 4
new production wells at Bandura Avenue.
Port Richey –
Bandura Avenue Wellfield
Schreuder,
Inc. was contracted and authorized by USWS to provide hydrogeological consulting
services to collect pertinent water
level and water quality information from each of the 4 production wells
and to provide relevant advice on the construction of each well.
Schreuder, Inc. prepared a final report documenting the well installation
process and the physical characteristics of each well.
This site
presented the unique challenge of designing and constructing water production
wells that would produce potable water from the upper portion of the aquifer
while preventing the potential for upconing of saline water from the deeper
aquifer
below.
The
public supply wells are located in Port Richey Florida at Bandura Avenue.
The site is an undeveloped property parcel located west of a residential
subdivision with an entrance located at the end of Bandura Avenue and
approximately 0.5 miles east of the Pithlachascotee River.
The individual well site locations were determined by the Southwest
Florida Water Management District (District) and specified in Water Use Permit
(WUP) number 20003692.007.
